Are you considering a remodel or looking for some inspirational images for a future project? Either way, check out one of our recent kitchen designs for tips and tricks!

The Existing Design Problems: Our client desired an updated kitchen with granite counter-tops for aesthetic and functional reasons (no grout lines to clean!), and updated storage solutions without removing too much of the existing cabinetry. The questions arose: how do we complete these design requirements and maintain affordability? Additionally, what adjustments can be made to the layout to encourage cooking efficiency? And finally, how do we optimize the project timeline and client’s use of time when completing the design?

Storage and functionality issues.

New island, updated counter-tops and back-splash, and refreshed cabinetry.

To solve the aforementioned design problems, a larger rectangular island replaced the initial triangular one. This allows for more storage and seating, and utilizes the central space to its full ability. New Amaretto cabinetry was installed at the island, as well as Aurora Borealis granite to contrast with the other kitchen materials. The existing wall cabinetry was refinished in Golden Oak, and Black Galaxy leathered granite counter-tops were used here. The range was moved from the island to the wall, encouraging a better workflow while maintaining the kitchen work triangle. Our clients kept cabinetry costs low by refinishing the existing wall storage. Likewise, their time was spent wisely by visiting our showroom; they were able to visit with Northern Arizona Stone Creations, Cabinets by Sun Ray, and Floor Coverings International under the same roof, and compare and contrast samples from each business.
